Dru Hill: Indrupendence Day

The fourth studio album Indrupendence Day—and their first work in eight years—from group Dru Hill was released today, and it is the first album with new member, Tao.  Antwuan "Tao" Simpson joined the group after winning Dru Idol, a contest that was used to find the newest member. Three singles from the album have already been released, including tracks "Love MD,” "Back to the Future" and "Remain Silent.”  The album is about relationships, according to Dru Hill member Nokio.  A reality show called Platinum House also coincides with the album release, as it debuted a month ago and shows the group’s comeback.  The show follows Dru Hill members in their everyday lives and through the making of the album.

Fat Joe The Darkside Volume 1

Fat Joe released his tenth studio album today called The Darkside Volume 1, and it includes cameos from Trey Songz, R. Kelly, $hort, Cam’ron, Clipse, Young Jeezy, and of course, Lil Wayne.  Fat Joe has described the album as more dark and hardcore than his previous work and intends to use the album to put him back on the map.  Two singles have been released so far, including “(Ha Ha) Slow Down” featuring Young Jeezy and “If It Aint About Money” featuring Trey Songz.  “(Ha Ha) Slow Down” reached No. 58 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip Hop chart, and “If It Aint About Money” has made it to No. 68.
